At work in the studio!

Here is a picture of Matt Evans throwing a drinking bowl on the potters wheel. This is the beginning of the bowls life! It will go through many changes before someone can drink out it. After the bowl slowly dries it will be trimmed and lightly sanded and loaded into the kiln for the first firing it goes through. The bowl gets bisque fired to 1700 degrees Fahrenheit. After the bowl is unloaded from the kiln it gets sanded again and lightly washed. When the bowl has dried from being washed, it gets waxed and glazed. Now the bowl is ready to be loaded into the kiln again and be high fired to 2385 degrees Fahrenheit - yes - that is REALLY hot!!!!!
